Kari and I took off on a weekend trip to Amelia Island. Here’s a quick look at our adventure!
First, we rented bikes to ride around the island. Here we are just before we started riding.
We rode along the beach until we came to this beautiful bed and breakfast. It was called the Elizabeth Point Lodge.
After that, we rode our bikes into Fort Clinch State Park. It was a gorgeous ride and we ended up at the pier. We walked to the end of the pier in the wind and rain, but it was so worth it!
After exploring the north end of the island, we rode to the south end. While riding, we came up to the Ritz-Carlton, the Fernandina Beach Golf Club, and some gorgeous homes.
After the 22 mile ride around the island, we checked into the hotel, cleaned up, and went out to dinner. Barbara Jean’s was so good! Then, we rode around and caught a few pictures of the sunset over the inter-coastal and the Amelia Island Plantation.
Finally, we visited the marina and saw some spectacular yachts! Here’s a picture of just one of the many that were docked there.
Saturday morning, we woke up to a beautiful sunrise and the beach! It was a wonderful weekend getaway and we can’t wait to do it again soon!
