In just a few short hours, I’ll be boarding a plane headed for Nicaragua. This is new territory for me! I’ll be working with five others and local churches in the city of Leon to host a VBS for the children there. I’m so excited!
After wrapping up a week of directing Middle School Camp last night, I’ve discovered that I’m tired and left with very little time to get my things together! Ahhh! But, I don’t think God would have it any other way! I’ve spent my day writing papers for seminary classes that are due and shopping for goodies to take with me. Now, I just have to pack! I can’t wait to post pictures of the kids with their toys and the little girls with their necklaces and hair barrettes. We’re also supplying eye glasses to some of the local women there who have poor eyesight and cannot afford eye care. I can’t wait to share the stories of how God is working in our lives and in the lives of the people we’re ministering to.
I know that God has placed me in this season. He has already walked the paths that I’ll soon travel and He’s prepared a place for our team there. What an honor it is to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to share His love with these precious people!
Please keep me and the team in your prayers. Specifically, you can pray for:
- Good health,
- Safe travels,
- Our interpreters, and
- The people we will meet next week.
I’ll update the blog as often as I can. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated!
