Have you ever had one of those moments where it seemed as though every opportunity has ended, every door has closed? It may seem that life is rolling along nicely without too many bumps in the road and then, “BAM!” the door shuts right in front of you. It was the one door you felt certain you should walk through. What you thought your life would be suddenly seems to disappear before your eyes and as you look for the next path to take, they simultaneously begin to be closed off as well. I’ve been there. It wasn’t too long ago that I sat at the crossroads of opportunity and every path around me shared a similar message, “No. This is not the way.” As I look back on that time in my life, I’m so thankful for such clear direction, but at the time, it seemed to be the most unclear message from the Lord. He was telling me where not to go and I desperately needed Him to tell me where to go. Some of you may be able to relate. For those of you facing this uncertain time in your life, here’s some encouragement for you. I know it sounds so cliche, but had God not stopped me in my tracks, my life would be on a path to everywhere but where I was meant to be. Today, I’m still learning to rely completely on God’s hand to point me in the right direction. I still face times where I feel like the clock is ticking and a decision must be made. Have patience. God is always right on time with the answer. I am now awakened to the fact that His plans are so much better than mine are and that if I want to be taken to new places with the Lord, I’m going to have to be uncomfortable. Are you uncomfortable yet? Are you allowing God to stretch you and use you? When we give up our plans and personal agendas, God can work. Miracles can happen. New doors of opportunity will suddenly open. Dreams and desires that reflect the Father’s heart will begin to illuminate your life. You’ll find your purpose. You’ll be so much more than you’d ever dreamed or imagined you could be. Our life will sing His song, the beautiful melody of a love song to Him.
“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” -Proverbs 16:9
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways.” This is the Lord’s declaration.” -Isaiah 55:8
“Where morning dawns and evening fades, you call forth songs of joy.” -Psalm 65:8
And a final thought for those of you who’ve found yourself at a crossroad…
“Who knows? Maybe you were made queen for just such a time as this.” -Esther 4:14
